Let People Know We Are Here Making A Difference With Spaying And Neutering

Umpqua Valley Humane Society Founded in 1953
 
We are a 501C3 nonprofit, our meetings are open and our financial records are
available to the public.

We assist in the cost of spay and neuter of pets.

We assist with the cost of emergency medical care.

We educate in the schools in conjunction with animal control.

We take pets into the nursing homes.

We hold vaccination clinics in conjunction with Dr. Tammy Eichman.

We sponsor The "Blessing of the Animals" on the Feast of St. Francis in conjunction
with St. George's Episcopal Church.

We have purchased bulletproof vests for all K-9 units in Douglas County.

We purchased Oxygen masks for all Douglas County Fire Engines.

We provide pet food and hay for those in need.

Provide supplies and pay dues to Umpqua Wildlife Rescue.

Pay vet bills for all Making Connections Dogs.

Purchased 3 thermometers Guns, for hot car calls for Animal Control.

Pay for annual education for Animal Control Officers.

Assist with SPCA wait list.

Cat food to the Feral Cat Committee.

Paid over $5,000 in emergency care for Saving Grace animals.

Until recently paid Furry Tail Times to benefit Saving Grace.

The shoppe has donated clothing and household items to the following:
Battered Persons Advocacy, Sunrise Enterprises, Women's Confidence Clinic,
Salvation Army, Glide Helping Hands, Hope Pregnancy Home.

Stuffed Animals and Toys to :
Toys for Tots, Family Development Center, Battered Persons Advocacy.

Shoes to Haiti.

We paid for night drop Kennels for the county.

We donated books to Head Start.

Donated $5,000 to the city's K-9 Units.

Donated the proceeds of our Spring Sale to the K-9 Units.

We donated money and clothing to the Victims of a house fire.

Donated 251 greeting cards to VA Hospital.

Donated tuition money to Large Animal Rescue Training in LV.

Electronics to Redemptive Ministries Inc.

Home Improvement supplies to Heartwood Recycle Center.

Wheelchair to Curry Manor residents.

Collected cell phones to be recycled for overseas servicemenbers.

Provided medical care for Camp Millennium dog whenever needed.

Donated office furniture to Phoenix Schools.

Sent 240 pairs of shoes to Soles for Souls.

Paid for and donated Saving Grace property.

Donated books to White City VA.

Donated Books to Roseburg VA.

Donated Books to Community Cancer Center.

Donated 299 children's books to Head Start.

We gifted a new wheelchair to the Mercy Foundation.

Paid for transportation and 1 year of care for a new male Dic Dic antelope at Wildlife
Safari in Winston, Oregon.

Maintain a book of names, assist those wanting to surrender a dog matching people
up responsibly to keep that dog out of the shelter. All animals placed are without cost.

Take abuse and neglect calls, screen and turn appropriate ones over to Animal Control,
trying to help with their burden.

We loan to the public:
Live animal traps, Large dog ramp, Various sizes of thunder vests, Large stretcher,
Crates, Cages, Leash's, Collars.


We provide:
Dog Food, Cat Food and Hay.

  The Umpqua Valley Humane Society relies entirely on private donations to fund all of our adoptions and community services programs. We receive no tax dollars, Grant money or federal funds, and we are not affiliated with any other humane society. Your donation to UVHS stays in the community to help animals in need.
